An Invitation from
Our Senior Pastor
I believe deeply in Oak Lawn UMC’s future and the ministry God is calling us to share. Together, we can ensure this place of belonging, compassion, and justice continues to grow for generations to come.
Beyond the Steps is our two-year generosity initiative to strengthen our financial foundation, sustain and grow our ministries, and care for our historic sacred space. Our goal is to raise $3.5 million over two years to support the life and ministry of our church while making critical investments in safety, accessibility, and long-deferred building needs.
Thank you for praying, engaging, and discerning how you can make a meaningful two-year commitment to Beyond the Steps.
Love,
Rev. Rachel Griffin-Allison
Senior Pastor

What Are We Doing?
What is Beyond the Steps?
Beyond the Steps is Oak Lawn UMC’s two-year generosity initiative to strengthen our financial foundation, sustain and grow our ministries, and care for our historic sacred space. Together, our giving will support the everyday ministry of the church while funding critical priorities such as fire safety, accessibility, and deferred building needs—helping ensure Oak Lawn UMC can serve our neighbors for generations to come.
What is a Unified Budget?
Integrating all financial requirements into a single vision, our unified budget simplifies giving at Oak Lawn UMC. Beyond the Steps merges daily operations, outreach ministries, and vital building improvements into one focused two-year campaign, replacing separate appeals for capital or annual funds. Your single pledge empowers every aspect of our church mission.
Our Goal is $3.5 Million over Two Years
Our $3.5 million goal represents what we believe it will take to faithfully support Oak Lawn UMC’s ministry and operations for two years while making critical investments in our building and future. Beyond the Steps will help us reduce our dependence on savings, sustain and grow our ministry, improve safety and accessibility, and care for the sacred space entrusted to us. One commitment. One shared mission. Two years of ministry—and an investment in generations to come.
